Johnson Brothers Building is a fifth-generation family building company based in South Wairarapa. We've built our reputation on quality workmanship, reliability and doing what we say we'll do. Whether it's a new home, farm shed, cowshed extension, renovation or alteration, we take pride in building it right and making the whole process as straightforward as possible.
We're based in South Wairarapa, but can work anywhere from Eketahuna to Wellington.
Johnson Brothers Building has been part of the local building industry for generations. Our story began in 1913 when William Johnson emigrated from the Shetland Islands to New Zealand. He established a building business known as Williams & Watson, laying the foundations for a family tradition of quality craftsmanship that has continued for more than a century. Over the years, each generation has built on the values of hard work, quality workmanship and taking pride in every project.
While the building industry has changed enormously over the years, our commitment to doing the job properly hasn't. We've grown from building traditional homes to delivering a wide range of projects, including new homes, renovations, farm sheds, cowshed extensions and rural construction. We've embraced modern building methods and materials while keeping the same hands-on approach, honest communication and attention to detail that our business was built on.

Five generations of family building
From William Johnson to Amber and Tim.
Building a new home is a big investment, and we understand how important it is to get it right. We're practical, easy to deal with and take pride in doing things properly, from the first conversation through to handover.
Renovations are often more complex than starting from scratch. With five generations of building knowledge behind us, we're used to tackling everything from small alterations to major transformations.
We work with farmers across the lower North Island on cowsheds, pole sheds, machinery and implement sheds and general farm alterations and repairs, built to handle New Zealand farming conditions.
